CONTRIVED EXPERIENCES
The five reason why we make use of contrived experiences:
1. To overcome limitations of space and time.
Ø Bringing specimen of butterfly in the class, we can see different kinds of butterfly in a short period of time without going out or catching butterfly besides it will take too long to catch this and take this to school. So for further and clear discussion, it’s better to bring specimen of butterfly and show it to the class for learning and to save time.
2. To “edit” reality for us to be able to focus on parts or a process of a system that we intend to study.
Ø Using a model of an atom it is easier to learn because it hard to imagine a thing without seeing it. And in this way we can explain it very well through the use of diagrams.
3. To overcome difficulties of size.
Ø Using a model of different vehicle we can teach easily about the vehicle use in the land, air and water. Without bringing a true car, ship, and airplane in the class because it’s too big and heavy.
4. To understand inaccessible.
Ø Using model of solar system, if we try to teach the solar system becomes even more clearly and well discussed through the use of pictorial representation.
5. To help the learner understand abstractions.
Simulation of earthquake Drill, in times of disaster we need to be prepared and to know what things that we are going to do just in case it happens and apply what we learn during the actual disaster. We can come up with a better understanding of the earthquake if we
